Diamond Paste

Aka-Paste Mono & Polycrystalline

Aka - Paste Mono- and polycrystalline 45 µm to 0.1 µm
Using diamonds for metallographic preparation originated with diamond paste in the 40's. Even today many users think diamond paste is still the best way of applicating diamonds.
Our diamond paste is homogenious, easy flowing and compatible with water, oil and ethanol based lubricants. It contains less than 0.1 % water, and is therefore perfect for water-free preparation.

Our diamond paste has the following features:
· Quick preparation
· Reproduceable results
· Non-hazardous formulation
· Water-free preparation

Reproduceable preparation

Many factors are involved when seeking short preparation times as well as reproducibility.

Uniform diamonds with uniform geometry

The decisive factor in achieving uniform particle size distribution is to use uniform, almost cubic-shaped diamonds. A single needle shaped diamond, can uin a perfect preparation. Therefore, the objective is to minimize the presence of deviating geometry, such as needle-shaped crystals or flakes.

Narrow batch tolerance

Diamonds are graded into very narrow particle size intervals with a very narrow standard tolerance. Variances are minimized from batch to batch, which is evident in the documentation under specifications.

Controlled slurring

Small particles, diamonds included, have a tendency to agglomerate if the slurry process is not conducted correctly. We inspect the product all the way through manufactoring to ensure it meets our specifications.

Quick preparation

Narrow particle size distribution
When using super abrasives like diamonds, it is important that particle size distribution has the most narrow deviation as possible. Large particles will be more abrasive and require longer preparation times in the subsequent step, and small particles will not provide the required material-removal rate, thereby prolonging the ongoing preparation step. We therefore use the most stringently graded diamond particles available.
Modern sorting technology, combined with electronic and optical quality control, ensures highly reproducible preparation results. See our close tolerance at specifications

High diamond concentration

All our diamond paste has a concentration of 500 ct/l. Grain sizes 0.1 µm to 3 µm are therefore up to 50 % more concentrated than competing diamond pastes.

Environmental friendly paste
Almost like lipstick
Our paste consist of pure glycol and diamonds, it can hardly be made simpler than this. But how could it be any different, you apply diamond paste directly with your fingers!

Specifications

Are you getting this detailed information from you present supplier?
Diamond paste is a technical product, and should be supplied with as detailed specifications as necessary.
We use the best sorted diamonds commercially available. Hence we have nothing against sharing this information; you will not be able to get anything better anywhere.
Our mono- and polycrystalline diamonds are sorted to the same specifications. Make your own test, what is best in you application, mono or polycrystalline?
